I applied online. I interviewed at KLDiscovery (Penn, PA) in May 2026
Interview
Applied for job via job board. Recruiter reached out about salary demands being higher than range. Told them the range was acceptable. Internal recruiter 1st round interview. Second round was with a low level director when this role is a C-level. Director asked questions in his wheel house that have nothing to do with enterprise risk, leadership, or cybersecurity in general.
The interview process was refreshingly straightforward. I met with the person who would be the direct supervisor for the role. She asked me questions about myself, my resume, and examples of where I worked on a team. It didn't feel like a typical interview with canned or predetermined questions.
I applied for the Software Engineer II position in November 2024. This was a remote position. The first step of the interview process was a online assessment through CoderPad. There were three sections: backend questions, frontend questions, and a test plan. This was as far as I went.
