I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at JCPenney in Jul 2013
Interview
After applying online, I was contacted by the Store Manager to schedule an interview the next day. I came in in a shirt, tie, and slacks, and was told that that was basically the uniform, though the tie was optional (but good).
The interview was very simple, mostly just questions about my job history and why I wanted to work at JCP. The manager was willing to work with my availability, and I agreed that I still wanted to work for the company. It was definitely one of the least stressful interviews I've ever done.

There wasn't a particularly difficult or unexpected question. Just the standard personality questions and work history.

Interview
I applied for the back room, but instead they offered me a different job on the sales floor. I walked in and sat down for at least 5 minutes before being told I got the job.
Put in an application in 2012 and was called about 5 days letter for an interview. Met with one of the HR reps and he was cool, he liked me and we scheduled a second interview with the store manager and it went well. Ended up getting the job in a week, but the background check
