I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at JCPenney in Aug 2013
Interview
Make sure to do plenty of research on what exactly the job is and entails. They will ask you a lot of situational questions. You will need to explain the situation, what you did and the result. Dress for success! I went in a jacket and slacks. I was told they turned several away for showing up in jeans, shorts, etc. Come on! Practice, practice practice the possible questions. Be confident! Own it. Be early. Firm hand shake.

Question 1
I studied for a few days and really thought hard about any questions I could get asked. My LP manager gave me a heads up on what his boss would ask me in the next interview. He gave me the confidence to just go in there and own it and I did.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at JCPenney (Oneida, WI) in Jan 2016
Interview
Set up and interview with the loss prevention manager, he seemed very interested in me but told me he still had other people to interview. Told me he would give me a call before the month was over and all his interviews were finished. Said he would call even if I didn't get the job so that I wouldn't be waiting for it. Never called. It's been almost 2 months later so I'm just assuming I didn't get the job. Ha ha.
They mostly asked situational questions such as: "What would you do if this happened," or "Tell me about a time when this happened and how did you handle it?" Other than that the interview was fairly easy. I think just about anyone can pass it.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at JCPenney (Stamford, CT) in Sep 2014
Interview
Received a call a few weeks after putting in the application. Interviewed the next day, received an email a week later asking to come back for a second interview with the Store Manager. The interview was a week later, the Manager was very nice and seemed happy to be there. He told me to expect a call in a week. Got an email 3 weeks later saying I did not get the job.
