      Interview

      Oct 29, 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Houston, TX
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Invesco (Houston, TX) in Oct 2013

      Interview

Phone interview first, asked question about the resume, the computer skills, and schedule. And then set up an in person interview with two managers on site. Behavioral questions, like what is your weakness? what is the most important trait do you think a manager should have? Excell and Access skills. How does your background help you in this position? What do you think most important for a team? etc. Very common behavioral questions. I think questions vary depend on the interviewer, but the experience was good. The two managers were very nice and we had a good talk. Really want to be a part of this company. I think the most important thing is your experience and computer skills. Focus on those aspects.

      Interview

It was a compliance position in Hong Kong office. I went through several rounds of interviews for this compliance role, but the overall experience was very unpleasant. The first few rounds were fine and polite. However, in the final round, the interviewer asked me basic questions about my CV, which made me feel as though she had not reviewed it beforehand. This raised doubts about the purpose of the earlier rounds, where I had already answered many detailed questions. And the way the interviewer spoke…. Just gave me an impression that she did not take the process seriously and respect the interviewer. Personally, I found the experience very discouraging.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Invesco (New York, NY) in May 2026

      Interview

The process was fairly quick, 4 interviews within 3 weeks (including final). Not too bad considering many firms take over a month to get to the final stage. So much talk regarding how they were interested only to be ghosted. Very disappointing. Did not expect such unprofessional behavior. After all the time candidates take preparing for interviews and getting their hopes up with encouraging behavior, the least a company can do is have the curtesy of letting you know you have not been selected. Is it much to ask to extend the respect that was given.

      Interview

It was pretty straightforward. Definitely felt more like a conversation with questions woven in. My interviewer didn't ask a lot of technical questions, but most questions would lead to more in-depth follow-up questions.
