Interactive Services interview questions

Received an email from their staff requesting I complete a test piece. This isn't unusual in itself - however Interactive required I complete an 800 word article on a subject for which they provided a full brief on subject, requirements etc. In other words, they provided a brief for a professionally constructed. full article to be written. In freelance writing, it would be very unusual (and in fact, quite unethical) for a company to request a test of this length and specification without providing recompense. I responded to the email, politely enquiring as to whether clarification as to whether the would be a fee involved (after all, I was offered no protection against them using my article without being paid for same), and reasonably outlined the basis for my enquiry. I have to date received no response from them. I consider this to be both rude and disappointing. If a company does not understand that a writer's time is valuable, this doesn't bode well for future relationships that may be forged.

The process involved a virtual webinar to describe the position, an online simulation activity, an interview with the Director, another test (or demonstration) with a presentation and a follow up interview.
