I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Instapro Group
Interview
The overall process felt mismanaged and disproportionately demanding. Across several weeks I completed:
An initial HR interview
A C-suite interview
A 300-question assessment (technical and personality)
A detailed, 5-hour-ish take-home task
Follow up on home task
A bar/elevator interview
All of this was initiated via your internal recruiter, who reached out to me directly.
While I appreciate thorough hiring, this was an unusually heavy amount of work for a company that is not well-known and appears to be experiencing declining performance based on publicly available stock and growth data.
Ultimately, I was told I was not progressed due to “lack of leadership experience needed for direct reports” This was surprising, as I was very clear about the scope of my leadership experience in the very first interview. If leadership depth was a crucial requirement, this should have been identified upfront, avoiding unnecessary time and effort on both sides.
Despite the significant work involved, I did not receive meaningful feedback that would help me improve or understand the decision. I also noticed this role has been open for over five months, which may indicate internal misalignment around the profile being sought.
For future candidates, I would suggest reviewing the structure, expectations, and sequencing of the process to ensure it is efficient, fair, and reflective of the role and company.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Instapro Group (New York, NY) in Aug 2025
Interview
First call with recruiter was very energetic and positive. Standard questions about motivation and salary.
Second round with hiring manager felt more one-sided at first, but turned into a conversation once I could ask questions.
Case study: asked to outline an approach to a hypothetical situation.
Case study discussion: some people hadn’t gone through my material, and expectations around format weren’t entirely clear. Luckily I had prepared both ways.
Scheduling was a bit unusual, handled informally and sometimes outside regular hours.

Question 1
How would you structure governance for a team collaborating closely on a project?
Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your interview experience with us. We’re glad to hear that your initial conversation with our recruiter felt positive and engaging, and that the discussion with the hiring manager developed into a constructive exchange.
We also appreciate your feedback regarding the case study. Regarding the scheduling, on some occasions interviews may take place outside of standard working hours due to time zone differences, for example when the interviewer is based in the USA.
Thank you again for your insights, and we wish you the very best in your career journey.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Instapro Group (London, England) in Jul 2025
Interview
I had 4 rounds of interviews.
1st was with hiring manager, 2nd with VP of finance . Then I did a huge assesment that was over 500 questions long. After this I had "an elevator interview" with two other members of the company and finally an interview with the CAO. They all gave a great feedback and that I would have been great fit to company, but still they did not hire me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They wanted me to talk about their company values in the interview. Which I had learned from their website.
Thank you for sharing your experience in such detail!
We understand that going through five rounds—including interviews with various stakeholders and an assessment—requires a significant investment of your time and energy. We truly appreciate the effort you put into the process.
Sometimes, evaluating strong candidates thoroughly means taking multiple steps to ensure the best fit for both sides. Please know that the decision was not easy for us.
We’re grateful for your interest in the company and sincerely wish you the very best in your future opportunities.
