Instabase interview questions

I applied through a referral, and the HR scheduled an interview. During the interview, I was asked to complete an assignment, after which I was told they would contact me regarding the next steps. I completed the assignment and submitted it on time, but received no response. Despite sending multiple follow-up emails, there was no communication. Eventually, I was informed that the position had already been filled and was closed. If there was already a candidate in the pipeline whose interview process was nearly complete, asking other candidates to invest significant time in assignments without proper communication feels unprofessional and disrespectful of their time. Overall, it was a disappointing experience due to the lack of transparency and communication throughout the process.
