      Junior .NET Developer Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at InfoTrack (Sydney) in Dec 2016

      Interview

After the phone screening I was invited to attend a written test at the company office. The test was 30 minutes long and consisted in about 15-20 open ended questions on OOP, C#, Asp.Net, Git, SQL, JavaScript. The questions varied from easy to fairly hard, but you're not expected to answer all of them, they just want to know what are your strengths and weaknesses, so the test was fairly hard by design. On that same day I got a phone call and I was told that the dev manager liked my test results and wanted me to proceed to the next round, with HR. I went in for the second round, but since the HR manager I was supposed to meet was busy, I had instead a technical interview with a dev manager and a senior dev. They were very nice and tried to make me feel at ease right from the start, and apologised for the last minute change. They asked a few questions about my experience, then asked me to illustrate on a white board a project I had worked on. Overall the interview lasted about 45 minutes and I walked out of it feeling like I had learned a lot about the whole interview process. The day after they emailed me to say that the company decided to go with other candidates.
