I came into the interview with extensive AI expertise, AI experience, deep industry experience, and solid academic credentials. I expected a professional and respectful conversation where my background would be evaluated fairly.
I want to note that the HR recruiter was excellent throughout the process. They were professional, respectful, communicative, and represented the company very well. My concerns are not with the recruiting team, but with the interview experience itself.
Unfortunately, the interview experience was very disappointing. The interviewer’s tone came across as insulting, dismissive, and disrespectful. Instead of having a constructive discussion about my qualifications, the conversation felt unnecessarily hostile and unprofessional. I was repeatedly cut off, and it seemed that the interviewer was not open to hearing different perspectives or thoughtful answers that did not match a predetermined script.
The interaction left me feeling that there was little respect for open discussion, intellectual honesty, or a fair evaluation of my experience.
By the end of the interview, I no longer wanted the role or to work under that individual. A company’s interview process says a lot about its culture, and this experience left me with serious concerns about the leadership and work environment.
Based on my experience, I would advise candidates to think twice. If this is how candidates are treated during the interview process, it raises real concerns about what the workplace environment may be like after joining. Think twice.

Interview
I was asked a number of pre-screen questions prior to interview. I was then asked the same pre-screen questions before being told I was not qualified for the position (despite meeting/exceeding all must-have requirements).

1. Application and Resume Review:
The process often begins with submitting your application and resume. The hiring team reviews your resume to understand your background, experience, and skills.
2. Initial Screening:
You may have an initial screening interview with a recruiter or HR representative. This interview might cover your background, experience, and a high-level discussion about your skills and the role.
3. Technical Screening:
A technical screening interview is usually conducted by a QA Automation Engineer or a technical recruiter. This interview may involve questions related to your automation skills, programming languages (e.g., Java, Python), testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium), and your general approach to test automation.
4. Coding Test or Assignment:
Many companies include a coding test or assignment to assess your practical coding skills. You may be asked to write test scripts or solve automation-related problems. This step is designed to evaluate your ability to apply your knowledge to real-world scenarios.
