      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at InRhythm (New York, NY) in Apr 2019

      Interview

Summary: Per all the other reviews, GHOSTING seems to be the norm here over MANY YEARS. Probably best to avoid them, given that their employee *and* candidate reviews reek of an abusive, micromanaging CEO an absolute lack of respect for anyone's time. -- Internal recruiter from InRhythm reached out. Gave a title and literally no other information about the role. I gently told them to provide some more information, which I had already asked for in my profile. I mentioned concerns around the reviews, such as the CEO yelling and very poor PTO (seems those are still accurate to this day). They gave a tone-deaf one-liner reply simply asking for a good time for a call. I redirected them to my earlier response as such. They finally gave a comp range and a JD. It seemed to possibly fit my experience, though also had some flags in it. Part of the comp range seemed competitive. I agreed to a call after this. Recruiter conversation seemed to go well, but it also seems very similar to the other reviews, where they said I was a great candidate, very excited about me, etc. Seems like they might just say this to everyone... Recruiter said the next step was a meeting with the CEO, which he insisted should be in-person, despite my discontent with having to come in-person for such a short meeting (I said for a final round, sure, but not for this), especially given the CEO's less than stellar reputation. They said they would schedule it within the next week. I was trying to keep my calendar open as in-person would require a significant buffer in both directions to get there and come back, dress well, etc, but they just never scheduled anything... I emailed the recruiter and got no response. Emailed the following week and still got no response. Eventually the recruiter emailed me back, reassuring me that I was a great candidate they wanted to get in. They did not apologize for the radio silence and merely said that the CEO was booked for the next week... what about the previous two?? Another week passes and again no communication and nothing scheduled. I email the recruiter again. They responded pretty quickly but just said that the CEO was busy last week... what about this week?? the past two? Calendars are used to book ahead of time in any case... The recruiter also repeated that I was a great candidate and that they would contact me ASAP when they can get me in. They literally never responded and never scheduled anything after that. So much for ASAP. I was pretty ticked off by this experience and very frustrated. It's even more ironic when they have poor Glassdoor reviews; like they don't even seem to care about the impression they leave or their (poor) reputation. Seems like everyone gets told the same thing and has the same experience based on others' reviews. Ghosting is the NORM here folks, not the outlier. Stay away.
