During the HR round, I was explicitly told that I would not be eligible for the same salary as a Dutch employee — solely because I live in another country. This was despite applying for the same leadership role, bringing senior-level experience, and being expected to deliver at the same level of responsibility.
I find this practice disappointing and discriminatory. Compensation should be based on skills, responsibilities, and value to the company, not nationality or residence. Using location to justify underpaying international talent — while offering a "remote" position — reflects poorly on the company’s ethics and inclusivity.
