      Solution Architect Interview

      Oct 29, 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dublin, Dublin
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ICON (Dublin, Dublin) in Sep 2015

      Interview

As I applied from abroad, everything was over the phone. Had a 15 minutes chat with someone from HR dept. Then I had two calls (30 mins, 60 mins) with hiring manager. Everything was very positive and friendly. Eventually, one month after the last contact I got the email, that the position was offered but the full process was really how it should be with any hiring companies. Before every interview I got a call, we agreed on the timing and also got an e-mail confirming the details for the interview call. It could only be better if I actually got hired.

      Question 1

It was mostly about earlier success, failure stories, actual cases where I managed to do things as I wanted against others and solutions I would change if I could go back.

      Interview

On site interview with the manager. Even though it was an interview for a technical role, there was absolutely no technical question asked. This confirming the fact that the manager in place has no technical knowledge and he only hires based on the mood of the day. He was very unpolite, not letting me talk and tapping his fingers on the table as he was in a rush to finish. Very unprofessional, making me wonder first if he is suitable for the position he holds. Proving that, due to his lack of technical knowledge, the only way to show his power over his people is by showing his bad temper.
