      Sales Floor Team Member Interview

      Jun 1, 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chesterfield, MO
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hut no. 8 (Chesterfield, MO) in Dec 2018

      Interview

Simple and friendly. The duties and responsibilities of a sales clerk often include greeting customers to welcome them to the store, answering any questions they have about the store or what it sells, suggesting options that fit their needs, providing instruction on using products and checking customers out when they are finished shopping.

      Sales Floor Team Member Interview

      Jun 10, 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Spokane, WA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Hut no. 8 (Spokane, WA)

      Interview

After a brief phone screen, I was invited into a group interview. My interview group consisted of roughly 15-20 girls. I've done group interviews before and have understood their purpose, but when it came to this one it just seemed like a fun event for the owner and the current employees. Overall I was not impressed by how the interview process was conducted. The owner was present but he seemed pretty full of himself, you could tell his spiel was rehearsed. He had a couple of employees with him that didn't really contribute much but walked around and took notes on us. It felt very much like they were getting pleasure from watching us work very hard to appear relevant. There were a few different phases/games that really wasn't fun for anyone but the spectators. It felt like a game/reality show almost. All of us girls were divided into teams. I can't remember how many stations there were but I think the stations were equal to the number of teams. We had to take a quiz on fashion that they stated wouldn't affect who they chose, so I'm not sure why we had to take it unless it really did affect who they would select. We also had to do an on the spot presentation, and there was a type of skills test where we sorted clothes and were told which ones we got wrong and which ones we got right. In the end they said they would select a few girls to come in and work for them as a test run, so I believe it is a 3 part interview in total (phone, group, trial run). I got the feeling I knew which girls they had decided on in about an hour (they were given feedback on presentations, weren't rushed through their questions, the owner was actually paying attention etc.) into the 3-hour process, which made the last 2 hours of being ignored kind of frustrating. It just seemed like they were making a really big deal over such an easy entry-level min. wage type of job.
