      Inside Sales Interview

      Jun 10, 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tampa, FL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Humana (Tampa, FL) in Apr 2019

      Interview

Worse interview of my professional career... Lets start with the phone interview that called at the wrong time... You schedule the time and confirm and sure enough they call at a completely different time and the person on the other end of the phone had absolutely no phone skills or personality. Provided no feedback just read a few basic boring questions that could have been answered by briefly reading my resume... Then I moved on to scheduling a in-person interview at the Tampa location in net park... When I arrive there in net park I show up 15 minutes early... To wait over an hour , Something seems to be wrong but no one is coming out to greet me or tell me whats going on... Finally 2 people fumbling thru there paper work... Woman and a Man... They sit me down and apologize about the long wait that the person that was post to do the initial interview cannot be found... We move on into the interview now remind you I have 4 year degree in business and have almost 15 years of management experience with the Last job being working Inside Sales for Tesla... The lady gos a head and start asking me random questions about college almost making it like i made it up... I thought that was a total waste of time, about 15 minutes into the interview the person that post to interview me shows up... So they take a 10 minute break to figure out if they should continue interviewing me or have him step in and take over... NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL... I am not sure who is managing this place but they need to be under some serious review.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Questions were simple situational questions... Which i answered correctly and in detail... Both interviewers seemed to not be trained or know how to hold a interview as they were both on different pages... The gentleman was taking no notes but asking me countless questions about Tesla and there technology and I go into sales mode and explain the products and services. The woman on the other hand keeps telling me about the position i am currently interviewing for and feels like I am going back and fourth in just useless information... This is information you should be telling a candidate after they get hired... I kept smiling and answering questions briefly with a positive attitude yet in the back of mind i am thinking this maybe the worse interview of my career... The gentleman keeps on trying to figure out my work history and why did not stay at Tesla i must have explained 3 times i was laid off and have documentation to show and have references to call to verify that I was a top performer with over 3 million dollars worth of influenced sales within one month. The questions seemed to stop coming from the paper and start coming from his hip... Just questions about my work history... I worked as General Manager at Aarons Sales and lease and then an Account Manager at Everest university online...Business Development Manager at the worlds largest classic car company, I was a Sales Manager at a local car dealership and have nothing but positive results with references and lastly I was working inside sales for Tesla...
