I was asked to interview on the phone. The call was a screening where the CEO wanted to ask 5 questions. The process took me aback since interviews are usually a 2-way street. When it was finally revealed that he had only 12 employees, I quickly saw that as a bad sign since his company has been in business for around 15 years. When he asked what my desired salary was, I gave him a number he probably couldn't afford. I sent a thank you note and was quickly notified that I would not be considered for the next step. I think I dodged a bullet so I was happy to move on.
