During the conversation, the manager made a comment to the effect of “I know enough, just do your job,” which is concerning for a role in payroll where clear expectations and communication are crucial. I got the sense that leadership and people management might not be this manager's strong suit, which could contribute to turnover in the position. Advice to Management: I’d recommend providing more clarity to candidates about the role’s expectations and ensuring that hiring managers are equipped with strong leadership and communication skills. It’s important that candidates feel the position is well-defined and that they will be supported in their roles.
