I interviewed with an in-house recruiter, then a hiring manager, and completed a take-home project. I got a really positive impression of the company from speaking to the recruiter, and the hiring manager interview went well. I didn't hear back for more than a week after talking to the hiring manager, but finally I received the take home project, which was by far the most extensive and time-consuming take-home that I've ever received from a company. The take-home included a couple of small code projects and a large number of short- and medium-answer questions, two database design exercises, and creating a small React app. I was given two business days to return it. This took quite a bit of time and I was happy with what I returned - unfortunately, after a week, I received a boilerplate no-reply rejection email. I probably dodged a bullet, but it's unreal to me that after the hours I put into this, and after more than a month of their interview process, they couldn't spare 5 minutes to write me a personal email with the reason I was rejected. Really bad behavior that speaks poorly of the company.
