Interview
I had a face-to-face first interview, and the person who arranged it was polite and communicative. As part of the process, I was asked to prepare a presentation, which I was happy to do as it allowed me to showcase my thinking and experience.
During the interview itself, however, I felt there was limited two-way discussion. It seemed the interviewers were not very familiar with my background or CV. Much of the time was spent discussing the company’s current challenges, with the interviewer taking notes on my suggestions rather than exploring my skills and experience in depth.
Afterward, I had the opportunity to meet with several team members who were friendly, approachable, and left a positive impression. That said, the overall process did not meet my expectations.
The feedback I received after the interview felt misaligned with our discussion, which left me confused about how my candidacy was evaluated. I was also asked to share a copy of my presentation prior to my interview, which made me somewhat uncomfortable given the outcome.

Interview
I was given little notice of the (online) interview. I was invited via email on Friday afternoon for an interview on the Tuesday of the following week. They asked interviewees to prepare a policy document to be emailed to them the day of the interview. The day after inviting me, they emailed to change the date of the interview to the Wednesday, ‘due to a personal issue popping up for one of our panels’, so I did have a bit more time to prepare.
At the interview, I felt that they could have acknowledged the policy document in a friendlier way (e.g. ‘thank you for taking the time to produce this policy document’). Instead, they simply asked how I’d gone about producing it and made no further comment.
I didn’t hear from them until 13 days after the interview, to inform me that I’d been unsuccessful. I’d long given up hearing from them by that stage.
I felt like an afterthought from beginning to end of this interview process.
