I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Harvard University
Interview
Contacted by email first and then a phone interview with the potential advisor that you would like to work with. Bascialy, if you receive the phone call, it means that the advisor is very interested in you. So you do not need to be too nervous. Just refresh the projects that you have done and papers that you have published.
Interview questions [1]

Interview
It was fairly standard, a virtual meeting was scheduled and I was asked to introduce myself and my research after which he told me a bit about his own. There were no oddball questions or particularly difficult ones.
Submitted application and was invited for an interview the next day. One video call interview, more like a conversation with two members of the lab. Both were very friendly and interview was enjoyable.

Interview
Pretty simple interview process; you meet a PI, find a grad student, and then decide on hours and if there are projects you'd be a good fit to work on.
