I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Halliburton (Elmendorf, TX) in Aug 2012
Interview
it started with a job fair then you were taken to a one on one interview with a series of simple questions, the whole process was unstructured as they were going through lots of changes at the time as always.
This is a multi-step process. Can be a bit intimidating at first. You have to talk with recruiter on 2 or 3 occasions. If the recruiter likes you, then they go to bat for you, and pitch your resume to area managers that need a person that fits your profile. Then if a manager bites, an interview is setup between you and the manager. That process will depend on the manager and position you are applying for. Some are fairly informal/relaxed, others tend to be more professional in nature. If the manager likes you, they submit an offer letter to HR, which then starts the onboarding process. This process takes 4 to 6 weeks, and includes drug testing, physical and DOT requirements, New Employee training and testing, (you have to pass all of this to keep your employement). It's a long process, but it's doable.
