The interview process was one of the best I've experienced in recent years. The recruiter was extremely transparent and communicative, making the whole process easy to navigate.
About 6 months prior to this series of interviews, I had interviewed at HackerOne for a different position. They ended up selecting a different candidate (for reasons I found out later and agree with). However, when more positions became available, the recruiter proactively reached back out.
Because I had gone through the process recently enough, we only covered team/role fit this time around. Of the two interview sessions, one was with the hiring manager, and the other with the team's lead engineer. There were a couple of standard behavioral questions ("tell me about a time when..." etc.), but they were mostly conversational.
Overall, it was a great candidate experience. HackerOne has made the interview process significantly less-burdensome on the candidate by doing a number of small things to reduce stress and cognitive load.
