The recruiter interview was fine - quick, smart questions, made it seem like their process was together and she gave me a good sense of position and current environment at HP. The hiring manager interview was embarrassing, however. She spent a good 15 minutes up front chatting about restaurants in the area, and asked a few follow up "fluff" type questions before asking anything about the actual role or knowledge required. Given that this was a senior role and, in theory, would have required a fair amount of HR and communications practice knowledge, I was disappointed that she didn't ask about skills, but instead focused on the fluff. She really came across as a new, or extremely inexperienced, manager, who out of insecurity asked personal or unrelated-to-job questions.
