I applied through a job board and hours later, I received an email with a link to schedule an interview. The first available was weeks later so I took the first option. A week before the interview, I received a call/voicemail from the interviewer informing me that they are canceling the interview because they filled the role with a contractor. As a contractor, I am happy to hear that they converted someone--it was most likely well-deserved. But most of all, this company treated me like a human being. In my many years of experience, I've been treated like a number, so this experience will always stick with me as a positive one--just that the recruiter took the time to call me. This may seem like a small gesture but I think anyone who has put in numerous applications and even time interviewing only to be a number rather than a human, the experience was refreshing. If the company treats their employees with this respect, I hope to work for them someday.
