      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gusto (San Francisco, CA) in May 2015

      Interview

I was scheduled for a phone screening with a person that seemed very uninterested with her job and payed little attention to me. She sounded really bored and didn't really care much for my interview and immediately I knew that I wasn't going to get the job from a recruiter with no passion. Next, I received a very generic email denying me and thanking me for my video interview although I never completed the video interview. I followed up saying this must be a mistake because I never completed a video interview, and she said it was indeed without an apology. She sent me the video interview, and a week later I was rejected with what I feel is a personal jab on my voice that was not in the previous generic email. She said, "We felt you didn't convey the ZenPayroll voice and communication style that we look for." I'm really sorry my deep voice isn't good enough for ZenPayRoll. This was one of the most unprofessional interviews I have ever been on.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Gusto (Denver, CO) in Aug 2016

      Interview

Started with a phone screen to get the basics. They asked some good questions about myself and my past work history, but they also took some time here to give me an accurate description of the job itself. Very informative and helpful. Overall, the interview process was great. Very good communication throughout the process, and great transparency from everyone involved. I have nothing but good things to say about it.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Because I came from sales, they asked a little about my performance in my last role and things I would do to change or improve the sales process.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Gusto (Denver, CO) in Aug 2016

      Interview

Basic phone screen to go over past experiences and the position. I was then given a written assignment that required research on the company and competitive landscape to complete. This part was very helpful for me understanding the company and preparing for the next interviews. After passing the written portion, I was invited in to tour the office and interview with 4 separate people. They also checked with my references. Overall the process was very thorough and informative.
