Started with an initial interview with HR, followed by a conversation with the hiring manager. The discussion was engaging, with thoughtful questions about my experience and the role, which helped move the process forward to the next round
Everyone was very nice and the process moved quickly and it was only 3 rounds. Interview with HR, a team lead and case study presentation to a couple team members. Overall, a standard AM interview process.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at GumGum (New York, NY)
Interview
Met with 5 or 6 Account Managers and Account Executives. All very standard questions. The most off putting was the attitude of one the Account Managers. She tried to put my experience down and seemed threatened by me by emphasizing the level of difficulty of the work when I had already been doing that type of work if not more difficult.
I also spoke to the head of the department. When employees heard her name all the employees seemed to groan and look at each other. This was a clear red flag to me in the interview process. After speaking with the head, the manager explained the head was very impressed by my background. He also harped on all the company freebies and the sales conference that in my opinion seemed to be beyond their means and how I would certainly hear back within a few days. I also had to complete a take home assignment testing how you handle different situations and prioritize your work for upper management. Weeks went by before HR told me the position was filled by another candidate.
