Interview
I was interviewed by a peer with the same job, the contract administrator, and the project administrator. It wasn't until I was referred for the position that I got a call back because instead of checking my extensive references and experience the contracts admin. solicited the liable and inflammatory opinion of a disgruntled former coworker who had been fired for theft. Such questions are liable and inflammatory.
Without the networking initiated followup and glowing referral I would have been passed over.
