I was contacted by phone soon after submitting my resume and cover letter online, and was told that I would have to come in to fill out a paper application in addition to what I had submitted. I did so, and at that time was told that the selection process is comprised of three rounds: first, leading an activity with the residents; second, putting together a mock schedule of a month's worth of programming and presenting it to the Assistant Director; and third, a final interview with the Executive Director. I made it to the last round interview with the ED. At the end of the interview, I was told that they would be in touch to schedule another interview where I would meet with all of the department heads. According the the ED, leadership is a bit decentralized at her facility, so she wanted the rest of the department heads to meet the candidate before she made a final decision. Kind of cool. After that, I was taken out of the running, because I never heard from them again. The selection process was much longer and a bit more tedious than I expected (I hate filling out applications after submitting a resume and cover letter with the exact same information included), but I enjoyed it for the most part. I wasn't surprise when I wasn't asked to come back because I could tell the ED wasn't impressed by me.
