I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Grail (Menlo Park, CA) in Jan 2026
Interview
Typical software engineer interview. A screening, followed by 4 panel interviews. A mix of LeetCode style and system design. The recruiter is very engaged and gives constant feedback and keeps you informed.
The interview process consisted of four stages. The first step was a video submission where I introduced myself and explained why I would be a good fit for the role. After passing this stage, I had a short call with the hiring manager, which went well. She outlined the remaining steps: a conversation with my potential manager, followed by a final interview with the CEO.
However, after that call, communication completely stopped. I followed up a week later for an update but received no response. Eventually, I received a generic rejection email with no feedback. While rejection is understandable, the lack of communication and transparency throughout the process was disappointing. It’s frustrating that companies require multiple interviews and extensive assessments but fail to provide even a basic, professional rejection with constructive feedback.
