Interview Experience – Disappointing End to an Otherwise Positive Process
I was genuinely excited about the opportunity at Gradient MSP and fully invested in the process from the start. I had two in-depth interviews with the CEO, followed by a late-evening conversation (7:30 PM) to accommodate the supervisor who was traveling in Asia. I appreciated how responsive and engaged the team was throughout—until the very end.
Compensation came up several times, and while I understand I may have been asking for more than other candidates, my expectations were clearly communicated from the beginning and never changed. I also understand the company may be conservative with salaries due to past layoffs, and that’s completely fair.
What was disappointing was being reassured repeatedly that I’d be kept in the loop, only to be completely ghosted—despite a follow-up from my side 1 week after I was told I’d hear from them. After such a promising process and clear mutual interest, it felt disheartening to be left without any response at all.
