I was approached by a recruiter via linkedin, then set up the phone screening with her. The conversation was direct and simple, she mostly just wrote down my past experiences and then told me she will send the hiring assessment and next steps. I past the GHA, she follows up on the next day and scheduled the first round interview. Unfortunately I did not pass the first round. I follow up after one week with the recruiter, she called me back letting me know that I am not moving forward because they have more experienced candidates available. No other feedback were given. The entire process is very clear and recruiter was responsive, the call to reject is kinda hurt as they got your hope up but I think this is also a standard google practice. Honestly would prefer an email update. Still better than companies just ghost you around 3 rounds of interview tho.
