Having been a loyal GitHub user for quite some time it was disappointing to be treated so poorly by the company during the interview rounds. The HR talk was rather cold and uninspiring and the second step with the hiring manager was no different. He barely greeted me and already started off by saying the position was for a “very experienced professional” and jumped right into a weird flex on how “busy” he was. During the entire time I had the feeling he was attending to a parallel meeting and didn’t even try to pretend he was respectful of my time. I’ve had interviews with several big tech companies and never experienced such unprofessional behavior. After the call, I took some time to write their internal recruiter about my experience and, as one would expect, they did not even bother to acknowledge the time I put into sharing my thoughts on the process. I’m staying away from this company as a professional and as a user.
