I applied through university. I interviewed at Georgia State University in Jan 2010
Interview
The professor will contact you directly and ask you something about your research ability , your research field and your future goal, etc. You have to make sure you are really interested in it. In fact this is a very good university, the interviewer are very nice and try to help you as much as possible.
Interviews were not hard, its just competitive since they are paying for your tuition. I would get to know the person hiring before interviewing so you have a better chance of getting the role.
I interviewed at Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA)
Interview
Straight forward and behavioral If you know the STAR method you’ll be fine just master the behavioral interview questions format and the star format. Overall the interview process was easy and the interviewers were also very relaxed
I emailed one professor about any available assistantships and she referred me to the one that I am currently in. I emailed them and they set up an interview. I did a virtual interview with the supervisor and the director.
