      Human Resources Interview

      Jun 23, 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Gensler (New York, NY)

      Interview

Applied online and was contacted for a recruiter screen about two weeks later. From there, I went through a series of video and in-person interviews and met with what felt like half the office. What was surprising was that a few interviewers openly admitted they would have little to no interaction with whoever got hired and were mainly participating as a courtesy. Considering how many people were already involved, it felt like an unnecessary burden on both employees and candidates. For working candidates, juggling that many interviews means a lot of “doctor’s appointments” and calendar gymnastics. I also encountered some of the well-known Gensler arrogance people talk about, which didn’t leave the best impression. The advertised compensation was well below market rate for the level of experience and expectations. It’s also worth noting they require five days per week in the office with no flexibility, which makes the below-market salary even harder to justify. After all that, I received the standard “moving forward with other candidates” email. Overall, the process felt overly drawn out and not especially respectful of candidates’ time.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gensler (Los Angeles, CA) in Jul 2025

      Interview

Lots of interviews but recruiting was proactive and communication was clear. Everyone I met was kind and I enjoyed the process despite not getting an offer after final rounds. I’d happily reengage with them for future opportunities.

      Interview

I couldn't believe I was being interview by HR Professionals. The interviewers were rude (a Senior person and a entry level person) and I couldn't tell the difference between the two. The Admin Asst was heads and tails more professional.
