I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Gap (Santa Rosa, CA) in Feb 2011
Interview
At the time you could just walk in with your resume and get an interview. I walked in, spoke to the manager and was hired on the spot.
They like really enthusiastic people.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Behavioral based, "what would you do if..."
Customer is always right, customer first, etc. Always talk about ways to make sure you build customer loyalty
Also talk about how you will keep yourself busy- organizing the store, ensuring there is one of each size on the floor, that you are task oriented
Group interview with other candidates with the store manager. Arrive at the store and wait for other candidates. Then interview happens in break room and it lasted roughly about 30-60minutes
It was very easy, one in person interview with the general manager and then I was accepted! Mainly personality and behavioral questions were asked, and I think enthusiasm on my end helped the most.
Application
I interviewed at Gap (Los Angeles, CA)
Interview
It was a group interview of about 10-12 people. If I remember correctly they take you to the back, the stock room, and ask almost everyone the same question. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.
