2 weeks after applying, I completed a brief screening call with a recruiter. 2 weeks after that call, I participated in a 1-hour long in-person interview with the hiring manager at their HQ in Culver City, California. This was an impromptu conversation, where the hiring manager asked me random questions that didn't seem prepared at all. On a side note, their office is in an nondescript white garage that reminded me of something you'd find at a sweatshop, including 1 bathroom for the entire building with a perpetual wait.
The most frustrating aspect of the interviewing experience is that I currently work at a footwear company and the hiring manager waxed eloquent about all the things he knew about shoes but he was probably from banking or management consulting with no actual experience in the footwear industry. The most frustrating aspect of GOAT as a company is that they're trying to create the world's largest database as it relates to shoes. (Think Wiki for shoes.) What they're really trying to do is cater towards the Hypebeast customer base that is the lifeline of their business. Not sure if there's much of a future for that.
