      Interview

Atrocious - lasted 8 mins - the Talent Acquisition member needs serious interviewer training. I applied to the SDR role and was sent a 1 hour long exercise on how I'd approach a client who has requested a demo. I submitted it and was invited for a 20min zoom call. This was hands down the worst and shortest call ever. I've interviewed a lot throughout my career and they all go easy for 20mins with back and forth. - it was a zoom call so of course I was dressed up with my camera on only to being told her camera will be off and i can turn mine off and I obliged. She clearly wasnt pleased and seemed was either in a rush or in bad mood. Similar situation has happened in the past and recruiters were very professional in asking me to turn off my camera or I can leave it on but theirs will be off for whatever reason. -There was 0 small talk except how are you? And when I tried to small talk, she gave one word answer with no followup question. She also said since I interviewed with them before - I already know process and product - I told her I haven't interviewed with them before. Clearly shows she mistook me for someone else and which reflected in the call duration. -All i was asked was talk a bit about my experience from my last role, am I comfortable working hybrid, my visa situation and she gave a short brief about the team. The entire conversation lasted a measly 8 minutes, barely scratching the surface of my qualifications. It's infuriating to think about the time and energy I wasted on preparation for such a shoddy experience. I was tempted to reach out to the hiring manager or recruiter's manager to express my outrage, but I was warned against it for fear of being blacklisted. It's beyond frustrating to think that such unprofessional behavior goes unchecked. This whole ordeal highlights a glaring need for serious training and improvement with this individual.
