      Financial Analyst Interview

      Aug 10, 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Englewood, CO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Fathom Events (Englewood, CO)

      Interview

I applied online through Indeed and was contacted within the week to schedule an interview. I had an interview with the Accounting Manager and CFO (separate interviews). After an excel test and talking with the Accounting Manager, she basically told me her only concern was that I would get bored with the job. After reassuring her and leaving on a great note with both of them, and feeling like I got the position, I evaluated all my offers and decided if this company offered it to me I would accept. I then proceeded to send them both a thank you note quickly after. I waited around for about 2 weeks and politely emailed for an update. No response. I emailed again a week and a half later to the same person. No response. A day later I emailed the HR, the woman that I had an original phone interview with and who also setup the in-person interviews for me. All these emails were polite and i didnt not mention the fact that they did not respond to my previous emails. No response. Maybe they decided to go with someone else (which would be a shock, but I guess I should humble myself). Maybe they decided the position didn't need to be filled. Maybe they are keeping me on hold until they continue to interview. Whatever the reason, I asked for an update. A very polite email that you can replicate from a template online that shows initiative and politely asks for their status. And still, I have no response? I read online that ghosting is becoming more common, but heck, I'm not five. My feelings won't be hurt, I just wanted an update or an answer so that I could decide on my other job offers. A rejection is better than no response. I intend to send them an email about common courtesy, considering I have already accepted a job somewhere else and don't intend on applying here again. I look at it as unprofessional and I do believe it says something about the company. It's not hard to write back "we decided to go in another direction. Good luck." But maybe I'm just naive and am asking for too much. You decide.
