I have been applying to big company's (CACI, CGI, etc) but three weeks no answer. So I decided to not go big so I saw a posting right up my alley of expertise and applied. I get a phone call an hour later but was too busy to answer. By the time I had a chance to call back the recruiter was gone for the day. Next business day I call her back only to hear "I'm looking at my paperwork right now and it looks like that company has found a candidate". She took some info about my salary range and what area I'm interested in.
