      Substation Operator Interview

      Jun 3, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Boston, MA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Eversource Energy (Boston, MA) in Nov 2019

      Interview

It's been a couple years since my interview but I'll tell you what I recall. Many attempts at applying and I finally got an email back. First step was a mechanical aptitude test in person. Probably about 50 questions. Passed that and got a call for step 2 which was a physical test. That consisted to crimping wires, entering an empty oil breaker through a small hole, hoisting 50 lbs down into a vault, picking up heavy fuses, and removing 12 bolts in full switchgear. As that was happening, we were being called in one by one to do a face to face interview with 2 supervisors. They went through my resume and asked me questions about it and then they had some pre written questions.
