I applied online. I interviewed at Empowered Hospitality in Feb 2023
Interview
It was a long interview process starting at the beginning of February and lasting until the end of March when the last interview was held. I participated in a phone interview, skill assessment, peer interview, case study interview, and finally the in-person interview with the CEO. I went through the whole process and was not selected for the position. I enjoyed the interviews but the process overall took too long.

Question 1
Why do you want to work at Empowered Hospitality and what is one thing that stood out to you about our company when you applied?
So the first two interviews were alright. Spoke with 2 very pleasant people and did a take home assignment. Then came the third round... Such an awkward experience. The person shared their screen and read the questions off their computer. They said "don't Google the answers, but that would be difficult since I'm here." Dude what? Then, providing no feedback, she just went on to the next question. I asked for feedback on my answers and she declined. Then I received an email saying I didn't get it. Again, no feedback.

Question 1
What documents do you need to collect after hiring someone.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Empowered Hospitality (New York, NY) in May 2019
Interview
The process started with a telephone interview led by the founder of the company. I was asked a few open-ended questions to determine how much HR knowledge I had, why I was looking outside of my current company, and what attracted me to E|H.
I was invited to an in-person interview which took about 2.5 hours; I interviewed separately with 2 HR consultants, a director, and the founder of the company. Each person I talked to made the atmosphere extremely comfortable. Interviews can be very intimidating but Empowered Hospitality’s approach allowed the questions to flow like a conversation and everyone was very personable.
I also interviewed with 2 more people after the in-person interviews. It may sound like a long process but the recruiting process went rather quickly; about 1 week.
E|H was very transparent with the pros and cons of their startup company, and I appreciate them for their honesty and treating me (a candidate) as if I was already a part of the team.
P.S. Empowered’s office is pretty nice! Their corner is kind of like an open office space; nice view and cozy. There’s also complimentary yoga classes and a cafe!
