I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Eli Lilly and Company in Sep 2022

      Interview

I started with an introductory call to brief me on the role. Next was a scheduled interview day with a panel of 3 assessors about one or two weeks after the introductory call. Both sessions were in August/September 2022. The interview was behavioral questions. Answer using the STAR method on experiences related to the role.

      Interview

Most bizarre interview i've every had. I received an automated rejection email for this role. Then a few days later the hiring manager reached out to me requesting my availability for an interview, I responded right away and we met that week. The interviewer truly seemed friendly at first, but he was unorganized and overall unprofessional. First, he never included the meeting link in the calendar invitation. I know silly mistakes happen but I actually had to request the meeting link the day of because he still hadn't even noticed. Even after he created a meeting link he was late for the meeting. Joined with camera off then once he realized mine was on he turned his on and appeared veryyy disheveled. Once we got through pleasantries and his general overview of the department structure, it was clear he had no intention of actually vetting me for the role. It quickly became apparent that his only interest in meeting with me was so that he could try to dig up information on my current company. Continuous questions like "Oh so you work at (company name)? What is going on over there lately jeez". When I made it clear that I wouldn't be disclosing any information related to my company aside from my work experience, he didn't care to take the hint. Proceeded to bash my current companies stock value and bait me by saying he has friends at my company who have been telling him stories etc. he'd share their alleged with me and then wait for me to confirm or deny. In attempt to steer the conversation back to an actual interview, I asked him what changed their mind to consider me for the role after they had sent me the rejection email. He claimed that the email must have been a glitch because I was a "Top Candidate". Full disclosure, this role was a reach for me so I knew there was no way I was a top candidate. As the interview came to a close he reassured me that they would contact me within the next 2 weeks to confirm whether or not i'd advance to the next round of interviews. Profusely encouraged me to reach out via email for updates if I don't hear back within the next 2 weeks. Then, I never heard from him again. They completely ghosted me.. shocker
