I worked at Eli Lilly and Company full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, and opportunities for young millennials.

Many top management have not had jobs outside of Lilly, and are not open to doing things differently. Nepotism prevails for promotions.

    Advice to Management

Need to work on a more positive company culture.

I worked at Eli Lilly and Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Most efforts are geared to 'putting the patient fist'
Flexible work arrangements are available to some

    Cons

The reality - 'putting shareholders first'
Short-sighted vision - mission statements of the organization are momentary at best
    Reorganization is the constant

    Advice to Management

Expand vision beyond the next quarter

I worked at Eli Lilly and Company full-time

    Pros

Family like Environment, Caring, Innovative, Ethical, integrity in every interaction, Fun. Work Hard, play hard mentality,

    Cons

unfortunately being part of the pharmaceutical industry there have been a number of layoffs/restructuring events. The issue is that this leads to a number of disengaged employees. The reality it has nothing to do with the company which is rather good, rather it is the pharmaceuticals in the present environment

I have been working at Eli Lilly and Company (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Fantastic company culture and work-life balance
    - Superiors care a lot about you

    Cons

    - Wished that I were challenged more
    - Skills underutilized
    - HR is not friendly and short-term focused

    Advice to Management

Executives should spend more time with your employees. We have a lot to offer. Sometimes, I feel as if I am the smallest cog in the gears of the organization, however, this may be due to my short duration.

    Pros

Professionally challenging, your skills are acknowledged and leveraged. There is a culture of respect and collaboration. Lilly hires people with these traits. Exciting pipeline.

    Cons

The company is structured such that advancement can be a bit of a challenge. This is compensated by a wide range of levels within each function.

    Pros

Average wages and benefits. Some job security.

    Cons

Lilly deals with downsizing by promoting more people to Sr Levels. Too many chiefs, not enough people doing actual work.

    Advice to Management

    More transparency
