      IT Analyst Interview

      Mar 22, 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Eaton

      Interview

I was contacted for a phone screening almost immediately after I submitted my online application. The HR representative was almost an hour late to reach out for our initial call. Overall, I had a very negative experience with the interview process. There was a lack of professionalism and respect with how the HR representative handled the screening and with my application. I never received a response to my follow-up emails and it took over 1 month to send me an automated message to inform me that they were moving forward with other candidates. I was very excited about the opportunity to work for this company and was confident that I would be a great fit for the role, but now this is just overshadowed by this experience.

      Interview

I was reached out by HR within a few days of applying. The first interview was a phone interview and lasted about an hour or so. It was filled with some generic technical questions. The second interview was scheduled a week later. It was comprised of several people who all asked behavioral questions based on previous experiences. This interview lasted an an hour and a half and was fairly straight forward. The whole process took two weeks. They were kind enough to keep me in the loop the entire time and even let me know when they made an offer to another candidate.

      IT Analyst Interview

      May 17, 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Eaton

      Interview

At the time, Eaton was bringing on new employees as contractors, and then hiring them as full employees in 8-12 months. A recruiter matched me up with the job opening. The first step was a phone interview, followed by a test of basic electrical knowledge, and then an in-person interview.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I wasn't expecting questions about electrical principles, since my position did not involve working directly with the products we sell. If you don't have a technical background and aren't interviewing for a technical position, it's probably okay to admit you don't know the answers. That shouldn't be a deal-breaker, but it might be to your benefit to learn a little about electricity and the products Eaton sells before you interview. This may not apply to other areas, I can only speak for myself.
