Applied from an advert on the LinkedIn jobs board and submitted my CV and covering letter that matched the job description.
Was selected for an interview within a few days and researched the company, role, hiring manager and HR person who I was interviewing with.
Interview went well, next steps were communicated and I went away to prepare for the interview within the hiring manager.
I then received an email from a completely different company unrelated to this role saying the role i had applied for was being put on hold.
I went on with my life and after around 3-4 weeks I followed up to see if this role (which I’d got confused with the other role was still on hold.
I didn’t get anything back and a week later I chased again and was told they were going through applications and would be in touch. Long story short, they hadn’t contacted me at all since my interview, moved forward with other candidates and I was ghosted and ignored.
If I hadn’t have kept chasing them, they wouldn’t have ever got back to me and ignored me like they’ve done with others. I was informed this was a genuine error and I’d slipped through the gaps with communication telling me they had moved forward with other candidates and I was no longer being considered.
I didn’t believe any of this due to similar pictures painted by others and wouldn’t work for such a company that shows so little respect for people’s time, effort and commitment.
I felt disrespected and let down by ESET and wouldn’t apply again or recommend them to prospective candidates, I can only imagine how they treat their employees based on my experience.
