      .NET Developer Interview

      Mar 7, 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at ELEAD1ONE

      Interview

I interviewed for a.NET Developer position recently and apparently they have several openings available. Their first step is to put you through a technical test which tests your basic programming knowledge. This was a breeze, but the interviewer wanted me to write something in three lines that would have just been difficult for someone to read. I'm not accustomed to writing code others will have a hard time reading for the sake of saving 4 lines of code--get ready to write ternary code. Anyway, I passed the technical test and the interviewer even said I programmed the test quickly. I thought I did pretty well. When the phone interview came there were three interviewers. They all seemed pretty nice, kind of young and geeky sounding--typical of the lot of programmer types. I can sound geeky at times. They were all very proud of their programming knowledge as if it was the one thing they were proud of in live. Anyway half way through the interview process they voiced their concern about my past position at a Catholic institution. You would think people that thought they were so smart wouldn't have the nerve to say they were concerned about their company and my religious beliefs as if there would be a conflict. This is actually the second time this has happened to me. If your company is so that you have to exclude people because of their race, creed or color you have a problem in your company. Anyway, they didn't hire me. I'm assuming it was because of this concern considering there technical test was ridiculously easy to me. I hope their CEO views this and fixes this issue quickly. No more asking questions that insinuate concern about someone's faith in God. Honestly, I'm a pretty laid back Catholic and don't bring my religion to work, but this was so ridiculous I had to voice my concern. You know who I am.
