I went through the full interview process for the AI Team Leader position at dLocal, including HR screening, a technical interview, and a final interview with the hiring manager. At every stage, I received positive feedback, and everything seemed to be progressing smoothly.
However, shortly after the final interview, I was informed via email that the role had been put on hold due to internal restructuring. While I understand that these situations can happen, I found it confusing that the same email also encouraged me to check for posted jobs and apply, which contained the AI Team Leader that was supposedly on hold.
I reached out to the talent recruiter who had been managing my process to get some clarification or more concrete feedback, but I never received a response.
I believe that candidates who invest time and effort into a multi-step interview process deserve transparent communication, especially when things change on the company’s side. My experience left me with the impression of a disorganized process and a lack of respect for candidates’ time.
