This company hired me as an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist for work that did not exist. I signed an agreement and was given a start date. When my start date came the company had me fill out several hours worth of insurance paperwork - but not new hire paperwork. For two weeks I tried to find out why I hadn't received new hire documents, and was either ignored or dismissed by both HR and my would-be supervisor.
Three weeks after my start date I was asked to attend a Zoom meeting along with several other therapists. This meeting was a "group firing", where they let all of us go because they did not actually have jobs for us. The employee leading this meeting then asked us to process and share how we were feeling - as though we were in a group therapy session.
