I applied online and was reached out to by a recruiter. The conversation was great and I was advanced on to speak with another person on the team. This time around, the conversation was so painstakingly dry. The person on the line sounded so scripted and had little to no reaction to my responses. It was very robotic and eerie given that I was speaking to someone on the People Team but didn't feel welcomed at all. The person then proceeded to say that "they are the most boring person on the recruiting team" which is something I'm not sure I would've personally said during an interview process.
Not to my surprise, I didn't hear from the company in 2 weeks. Completely ghosted and later to receive an email rejection that they proceeded with candidates that are further along in the interview process. Such a bummer since Datadog was one of the top companies that I was most looking forward to speaking with.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Datadog (Boston, MA) in Jan 2025
Interview
I had a recruiter connect with me, very thorough and communicative and walked me through the whole interview process, provided great feedback and did a great job at setting up expectations. It was a phone call first, then a video interview, then another video interview where there were some problems to resolve
Recruiter screen call, take home test involving writing mock emails and scheduling, Hiring Manager interview video call, and then two in person interviews at the office with a sourcer and 2 of the coordinators
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Datadog
Interview
The interview took more than 1 month. I put down that I require H1b sponsorship on my application. They didn’t see it and after an offer they rescinded it. It was such a waste of my time.
