      Project Coordinator Interview

      Feb 1, 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at DataMasters (NC)

      Interview

Received an email with 3 opened ended questions for me to answer. Interviewer did not show to the interview, after several attempts to contact them, they finally wrote back after an hour and ten minutes and set a new time. When interview began, it was said that "time just got away from them". Proceeded to ask me the same questions that had been answered in the email I had responded to. I asked if they'd received the email with those answers, and they took a few minutes to locate them. They then proceeded to tell me how awful my resume was, and continued to pick apart my credentials and experience for the next hour, but under the guise of being on my side. It was a fairly demoralizing experience. I was then told that I needed to gather all of my past resumes and work history and send that over that evening (it was now almost 5pm), with the apology of "I'm sorry to have to give you homework, but I'm going to rework your resume, so please send that material over tonight." So I spent the next couple of hours pulling all of that information together and sent it over on a Thursday evening. They finally wrote back on the following Monday and said they received it. A few days later they said they had spoken with the client and I was not selected. I asked about the resume that they were supposedly rewriting for me, something they offered to do, not something I had requested, and got a vague response. I occasionally followed up with them for about a month asking about the rewritten resume, and did finally receive it about a month later. I discarded most of it, since it was basically all of my previous verbiage, but just laid out in a much longer version. I did keep one small section from it that they had added from scratch. However, since rewriting my resume following their advice, I've had only a single response from it, yet my old resume would usually garner about 2 calls a month. I have since removed most of that section and have only kept three lines of their original text, as it was too verbose. I may replace that section with bullet points, as was the case in my previous resume. I'm only writing this because glassdoor won't let me access company reviews without adding some kind of experience.
