In full disclaimer: I was working with a Staffing Agency.
I was contacted on a Friday by a Staffing Agency to inquire as to my interest in the position at DaVita. After a standard prescreen, I was told that I would be contacted with further instruction. I was then contacted on the following Monday and told that I did not meet the requirements of the position. I was contacted, again, on the following Wednesday to ask if I would be available for a telephone interview.
During the telephone interview, there were three (3) individuals on the line from DaVita. I do not recall their positions, but I do not believe any of them were the Hiring Manager. I was asked several technical questions, one of which I was told I answered incorrectly (I have since verified that I was correct).
I was contacted moments later by the staffing agency I was working with and told that the interview went "Okay" and that DaVita wanted to arrange a follow-up interview on the following Monday.
I arrived for my in person interview at DaVita's building about 20 minutes early and was met by an individual at the start time of the interview. I was told by the staffing agency that there would be at least three (3) individuals present for the in person interview; however, only one (1) person showed up. The individual did dial into a conference bridge, which had a person join about 5 minutes into the interview. That individual immediately took control, asked several technical questions, and then disconnected. I was later informed that the other individual was a Systems Administrator for another product and on completely different team.
As I sat in large conference room with the one individual who arrived for the interview, he explained that there were to be several others, and was not sure why nobody else was there. The individual went on to explain that he would hire me, and would relay that information to his manager. The person then went on to explain that he was a Contractor (through the same staffing agency) and knew very little about interviewing in general or the actual hiring process at DaVita.
I called into the staffing agency two days later (now Wednesday) was informed that DaVita chose not to hire me because they were looking for someone who was "more technical".
I am sure that DaVita is a good company, and their Glassdoor profile speaks to this, but this was a very poor and disappointing experience.
